Our client is a leading production firm, who as a result of some internal changes need to appoint an ambitious and experienced Manager.
Leading a small team and reporting to the Operations Director, you shall lead a small team in the delivery of a first class warehouse and logistics operation. Working with both internal and external stakeholders you shall ensure that the operation operates effectively and efficiently. More specifically you shall;
- Manage both people and processes within the Warehousing and Logistics functions, seeking positive and continuous improvements
- Organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of products to customers in order to satisfy demand.
- Oversee the space planning and workflow in the warehouse to fully utilise the available resource and limited storage
- Work closely with internal planning to ensure accurate flow of product
- Monitor, manage and investigate weekly distribution performance and KPI's
- Establish and maintain a continuous improvement program within the warehouse operation
- Manage in conjunction with supply chain the movement of components and finished goods between our third-party sub-contractor.
- Develop a system to ensure FIFO and aged stock reduction
- Promote and ensure a safe working environment, in compliance with all HSE legislation
- Obtain freight quotations for the importing of goods involving containers.
- Manage the implementation of barcode scanning and handled devices to ensure the efficient and productive use of the available space and manpower.
- Maintain high levels of stock integrity through regular cycle counts and warehouse monitoring, investigating variances to discover the route cause and countermeasure.
- Ensure housekeeping in the warehouse is maintained to a high standard.
- Management of all team-related activities including appraisal settings, disciplinaries, return to work, coaching, and mentoring
It is expected that you shall have;
- Proven experience within a Warehousing / Logistics environment.
- Strong team leadership and management experience.
- Have worked within a fast-paced environment and worked to tight deadlines.
- Supply chain and inventory management experience
- Experience of implementing change
- You should ideally have had experience in developing and overseeing the warehouse management system, digital automation, and reducing the manual workflow
- Well-versed with a barcode scanning system and its implementation
- You should possess extensive knowledge of Warehouse management systems, data collection, and inventory control.
- Sound experience of continuous improvement
- A hands-on approach and flexible attitude fork lift experience is highly desirable however training will be provided.
