Private Client Tax Director - Edinburgh - Hybrid working - up to £87,000 + Benefits
Private Client Tax Director required for our Edinburgh client, an independent mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors
Reporting to Partners, you will lead the Private Client Tax team and have oversight of tax services provided to a wide range of clients including HNWIs, farms and estates, trusts, professional partnerships and entrepreneurs.
Primary responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Managing a team of ten employees, from graduate trainees to Senior Manager level, ensuring that client portfolios are managed effectively and that deadlines are met.
- Departmental recruitment and development
Client Relationship Management:
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients
Compliance:
- Department compliance reviews covering Trust and Estate returns, SA, IHT and CGT returns, P11ds, ERS and ATED submissions, TRS registration.
Advisory
- Assisting Partners on planning projects such as IHT reviews and succession planning, business and share sales, BADR reviews, efficient profit extraction and business structures.
- Dealing with or review client ad-hoc queries encompassing capital allowances, share schemes, employee benefits, residency status, defined benefit pension input issues and undisclosed tax disclosures.
About you…
You will be professionally qualified, with relevant technical (compliance and advisory/planning), operational and people management experience gained within a firm of accountants, solicitors, tax advisors or financial planners.
