Our Glasgow based client is a boutique professional services firm that provides advisory, business performance improvement and turnaround management services.  They work closely with investors, law firms, corporate clients and private equity firms on a global scale advising on a range of specialisms such as tax, disputes and investigations, corporate performance improvement, private equity services and restructuring & turnaround. 

Their rapidly expanding Scottish Tax practice are looking to recruit an Associate into their Glasgow team. Your primary responsibilities would be tax advisory services although there will be a requirement to assist with UK partnership and corporation tax compliance.  

This role is all about...

  • Establishing and managing client relationships

    • Dealing directly with clients to assimilate their tax concerns o Identifying areas of risk for clients and working with Managing Director to develop risk mitigation strategies

    • Liaising with tax specialists in other areas o Co-ordinating with Glasgow and national Tax and teams

  • Providing advice in all aspects of UK investment fund advisory work:

    • Drafting advisory reports on the establishment of fund structures, restructuring of investment managers and the acquisition / disposal of investments

    • Working to client or Managing Director set deadlines to deliver completed reports

    • Providing clients with ad-hoc advice on day to day planning issues

  • Assisting with UK partnership and corporation tax compliance

  • Providing advice regarding tax technical issues in the UK and globally

  • Undertaking technical research projects

  • Involved in business development and marketing initiatives

​About you...

You will be a qualified Accountant and/or Tax Advisor with a strong technical background in either corporate or personal tax. Experience in financial services tax or transaction tax is advantageous but not essential. You will be able to demonstrate your ability and willingness to quickly establish, develop and enhance client relationships. Our client is looking for someone who is bright, diligent, action-orientated, and hands-on. In turn, you will run with client engagements, receive excellent training as well as exposure to interesting varied work.  

Salary £35,000-£50,000 (DOE) + Benefits.  Our client is renowned for how well they look after their staff, including presenting genuine opportunities for personal and career development.
