Corporate Tax Senior Manager, required for the Group Tax team of our Edinburgh based blue-chip client.

You will join an established team and play an integral role within the Direct Tax Compliance team, with responsibility for:

  • Review and sign-off responsibility for a portfolio of group corporation tax computations, CT600 returns and other returns, elections and related correspondence; preparation work on parts of more complex computations
  • External tax reporting. Review and some preparation of tax accounting, tax disclosure and related information required for inclusion in the groups consolidated Annual Report and Accounts and the statutory accounts of subsidiary companies; involvement in monthly and quarterly external tax reporting. Liaising with external auditors and Finance areas as required
  • Management of internal and external suppliers of financial data necessary for tax reporting and compliance production for a portfolio of group companies. Managing the supply of the necessary quality and quantity of financial data
  • Tax forecasting and budgeting, involving collaboration with Group Tax and wider Finance colleagues alike
  • Responsibility for all aspects of Treasury Tax, including building effective relationships with Treasury Finance colleagues
  • Input and support to the group relief plans and elections for submission to HMRC
  • Input to support to internal tax accounting process and group relief settlement calculations
  • Input, project management and delivery to ad-hoc projects as required
  • Functional management, development and skills coaching to tax staff
  • Providing assistance to senior management as necessary and periodical input to SOX and SAO compliance matters

You will be a qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA) or Tax qualified (CTA, ATT, ITP) with significant and recent experience of corporation tax review manager responsibility in a UK professional services firm or UK major group.  You will have several years’ experience of statutory tax accounting (including deferred taxation and tax reconciliations). In addition, you will have experience in the functional management and development of tax staff. The role requires sound general business and commercial awareness coupled with excellent problem solving and analysis skills. You will have developed project management skills including the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
