Our client is a leading design-led manufacturer, who as a result of an internal move need to appoint an experienced design engineer.

Reporting to the Design Manager you will lead project teams from initial RFQ through to install and commission, which shall include project personnel, design engineers and draughtperson's. You will be responsible for the oversight of all design elements of each project and shall work closely with the Project Manager to control budgets and expenditure. You will also act as the technical liaison for the client and shall interact with all parts of the business to ensure the successful delivery of the required products. You shall also be expected, as a senior member of the design team, to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior members of staff.

You will be degree qualified, ideally in either Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, and have operated in a senior design role. It is expected that you will have some experience of mechanical design, pressure calculations, volume flow rates and have been involved in creating BOM’s. It is also expected that you shall have first-class communication skills, an engaging manner and the ability to motivate others.
