A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its expanding Corporate Transactions team in Glasgow. With a strong and growing pipeline of work, the team advises on complex, high-value transactions for an impressive client base across multiple sectors and jurisdictions. 

This role offers the opportunity to take on significant responsibility, lead transactions, manage key client relationships, and play an active part in the continued growth of a highly regarded corporate practice. 

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will work across a broad range of corporate transactions, with a particular focus on private M&A, while also gaining exposure to:

• Private Equity transactions
• Technology M&A
• Financial Services M&A
• Infrastructure M&A
• Joint Ventures
• Corporate Reorganisations and Restructurings
• Corporate Governance Matters 

You will act as a key adviser to clients, lead complex matters from inception through to completion, and work closely with partners on strategic client relationships and business development initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and managing complex corporate transactions.
• Taking primary responsibility for transaction workstreams and client delivery.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
• Drafting and negotiating sophisticated transaction documentation.
• Coordinating multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional teams.
• Supporting business development activities and identifying new opportunities.
• Delivering commercial, pragmatic and solution-focused legal advice. 

About You

You will be an experienced Corporate lawyer with a strong track record advising on transactional matters within a leading private practice environment.

You should demonstrate:

• Significant post-qualification experience in Corporate and M&A transactions.
• Strong technical knowledge across private M&A and related corporate matters.
• Experience leading transactions and managing client relationships.
• Advanced drafting and negotiation skills.
• Experience with SPAs, disclosure letters, shareholder agreements and joint venture arrangements.
• Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
• The ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior team members.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
