An excellent opportunity to join the busy and rapidly expanding Security Settlements team of our Glasgow based Financial Services client.

The Settlements Control team interacts across all Operations teams in order to maximise trade settlement whilst minimising internal and external risk. This role is critical for providing support and oversight of offshore teams. This involves managing market settlement risk, client money exceptions and settlement break processes on a daily basis to prevent the business and it's clients sustaining financial sanctions.

As a Manager in the EMEA Equity Security Settlements Control team, you will manage both the onshore and offshore teams as well as managing the overall process to drive improvement in processes and controls to ensure operational excellence, mitigate risk and ensure regulatory requirements are met. You will build and maintain effective relationships with the operational team as well as an external vendor who provide support to the processing teams in Glasgow. 

The teams are primarily responsible for ensuring the timely settlement of trades executed by MS trading desks and clients. Furthermore, the team is responsible for facilitating client asset transfers and conversion requests.

  • Manage and execute Settlement Fails route cause analysis and remediation in support of CSDR.
  • Manage the performance and relationship with the 3rd Party vendor in India 
  • Drive Settlement performance and efficiency
  • Manage daily settlement risk and exposure
  • Partner closely with Business Units to enhance client service levels and support business growth
  • Work in partnership with internal infrastructure teams including Legal and Compliance, Technology, Operations Risk and Control teams, as well as external regulators and exchanges
  • Drive the review of the controls and processes in order to reduce operational and client risk
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and strive for the delivery of commercial initiatives

This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Services Operations Manager with a strong background in process and projects. Full training will be provided in relation to any technical aspects of the role. Experience dealing with vendors or offshoring is advantageous but not essential.
