Leicester | Up to £30,000 + Benefits | Permanent
Are you confident picking up the phone, starting conversations and turning a cold introduction into a commercial opportunity?
We’re recruiting a Sales Coordinator to join the Residential Sales team of an established, international manufacturer of premium windows and doors. This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to play an important part in growing the company's residential presence across the Midlands.
Based from the company's new Leicester operation, this isn't a traditional sales administration role. We're looking for someone commercially minded, confident and proactive who wants to build relationships, create opportunities and develop a career in sales.
The opportunity
In the short to medium term, a major part of your role will be engaging directly with architects and other residential construction professionals across the Midlands.
You'll research potential contacts, pick up the phone and start conversations around their current and future residential development pipeline – identifying where the company's high-performance window and door solutions could add value.
You'll be introducing a product range with a genuine point of difference in the market, combining engineered timber with external aluminium cladding to provide the warmth and aesthetics of timber alongside durability, low maintenance and excellent energy performance.
As those initial conversations develop, you'll build relationships, identify projects and create a growing pipeline of opportunities for the Residential Sales team.
What you'll be doing
- Proactively contacting architects and prospective customers across the Midlands
- Researching the market and identifying residential developments and future project opportunities
- Introducing the business, its products and what differentiates its solutions from more conventional window systems
- Building long-term relationships with architects, specifiers and customers
- Qualifying opportunities and developing a strong regional sales pipeline
- Following up enquiries, quotations and bids to help convert opportunities into orders
- Keeping CRM and sales forecasting information accurate and up to date
- Supporting customers from initial enquiry through quotation and ultimately order
- Developing your technical knowledge so you can confidently discuss the product range with customers
- Encouraging customers and prospects to visit the company's showroom
- Providing useful market and competitor intelligence back into the wider business
- Working closely with colleagues across a national sales team, as well as operational and international support teams
As your experience develops, you'll gain exposure to more of the commercial sales process, including quotations, value-engineered solutions, negotiation, project commercials and key account development.
Who are we looking for?
You don't necessarily need to come from the windows, construction or architectural sectors. Product and industry knowledge can be developed.
What matters more is your attitude and commercial confidence.
You'll probably be someone who:
- Is genuinely comfortable making outbound and cold calls
- Can quickly build rapport with people you've never spoken to before
- Communicates professionally and has an excellent telephone manner
- Is curious and confident asking questions to uncover commercial opportunities
- Can sell a business, product and proposition rather than simply read from a script
- Is organised and disciplined about following up opportunities
- Can think laterally about how to approach prospective customers and open doors
- Is comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider national team
- Has strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Is commercially aware and motivated by achieving results
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning CRM/sales systems
Previous B2B sales, telesales, business development or construction-sector experience would certainly be useful, but potential, confidence and the desire to build a sales career are equally important.
Why consider it?
This is an opportunity to join a business with a highly differentiated proposition in a market increasingly focused on energy efficiency, sustainability and whole-life building performance.
Rather than conventional PVC-U products, the company's premium timber-aluminium solutions combine Scandinavian engineering with impressive thermal performance, durability and sustainability credentials – giving you something genuinely interesting to talk to architects about.
Just as importantly, this is a new role with room to grow.
For someone who demonstrates an ability to develop relationships, create pipeline and win opportunities, there are genuine prospects to progress within the Residential Sales team and build a longer-term career in commercial sales.
