A new opportunity for a qualified Solicitor or Associate to join this growing Restructuring & Insolvency team. The role could be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, offers flexible working and is suitable for applicants with at least 2 years of relevant experience in restructuring, insolvency, banking or corporate.

This highly rated team is part of the firm's Banking and Finance group, and advises financial institutions, turnaround and insolvency practitioners, company directors, shareholders and other stakeholders on strategies for recovery and turnaround. They also investigate causes of company failure and pursue claims against those responsible. They act for all major clearing banks as well as a wide variety of other lenders, all major firms of insolvency practitioners, creditors, regulators and directors.  

Operating across the UK, Europe and Asia- Pacific, the team has 11 partners and a team of 30 lawyers making it one of the largest teams of any practice in the UK.

The team in Scotland is notably strong in the oil and gas, renewables, care homes, retail and financial services sectors, with particular expertise in distressed loan sales and purchases and UK bank ring-fencing projects. The successful candidate can expect a wide range of work covering both restructuring as well as working on strategic projects and the trading and restructuring of distressed debt. There is also plenty of support available from 2 Partners, a Consultant and Legal Director and the team work very closely together.

The role offers the chance to work on both contentious and non-contentious matters with a focus on the transactional side.
