Regulation, Public Law & Competition Associate

A highly sought after and varied opportunity for an Associate with ideally 4-8 years of PQE to join the Regulation and Markets team at one of Scotland's leading law firms. The role could be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh and also offers hybrid working.

The successful candidate will have gained previous experience in a similar role which could include either regulated utility work and/or competition and public law expertise.

The Regulation and Markets team sits within the Commercial Disputes & Regulation division. The team advises on some of the most interesting, complex and varied regulatory issues in the UK using a combination of energy regulation expertise, public and competition law. They are looking for a dynamic lawyer who is keen to take responsibility and initiative in a client facing role.

The role would suit a candidate attracted to working across a variety of disciplines with a focus on energy regulation, competition law, subsidy control, public and administrative law, procurement and FDI. The varied nature of the practice means you will have the opportunity to gain experience across a range of legal areas, meaning no two days are the same.

The team works at the cutting edge of regulatory developments in the UK, with a particular focus on clean energy and utilities. The work they do in this area is at the heart of the energy transition and helps support their clients in delivering the UK’s net zero and decarbonisation ambitions.
