Projects Associate or Senior Associate

This multi-awarding winning national law firm has a new requirement for a Projects Associate or Senior Associate to join the Energy team based in Edinburgh. Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 3 years of PQE gained in ether energy projects or infrastructure/transport.

If you are a Projects Lawyer with a strong interest in renewable and clean energy, this is a great opportunity to join a team that is recognised as being at the forefront of Net Zero and renewable energy legal advice and planning major growth in the coming years.

"The team knows the renewable energy industry inside and out and can provide really high-level expertise across a range of subjects" (Chambers UK, 2020).

You can expect professional development with a structured path to advancing your career, guided by an award-winning and supportive leadership team to enhance your skills and experience.

You will take responsibility for your work and be trusted to get on with things, leading junior colleagues in a friendly and sociable setting. The Energy team is one of the largest, most diverse projects teams in the UK, so there will be opportunities to experience and learn about different sectors whilst maintaining and growing your Energy experience.

The team has an outstanding reputation working on interesting and innovative projects in the UK and last year advised on:

  • The UK's first deep geothermal power projects
  • 600MW of battery storage
  • 550MW of UK onshore wind projects and 1345MW of solar projects
  • 8 biomass/ waste to energy deals/projects
  • 3 Hydro schemes and 2 hydrogen projects

Their work requires an appreciation not just of the legal issues but also the underlying commercial and developing policy objectives. You will find them in tier 1 of many areas of the directories including Energy, Renewables, Environment and Nuclear. They are also one of the firms on the CCS panel and regularly work with Government.

The successful candidate will be awarded a market leading basic salary, a generous benefits package which includes two different bonus schemes, hybrid working and an employee friendly culture that has been recognised with a number of awards.
