Lusona is supporting one of our Engineering clients in Renfrewshire to source suitable applicants for the post of Project Accountant. The successful candidate will ensure cost management best practices are applied consistently across all projects and ensure sharing and development of best practices between project managers.

The main duties will include:

• Assisting with project planning and assisting Project Managers in maintaining detailed project performance sheets
• Analysing project third party and internal expenditure, both predicted and actual, to ensure project financial goals are maintained or exceeded
• Conducting cost variance analysis and sensitivity analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and mitigations that are available to the Project Manager
• Ensuring costs are correctly processed and allocated to and within projects so that project performance is correctly reported
• Ensuring project variations and changes in scope are correctly allocated and captured
• Ensuring milestones, including any variations, are captured and invoiced in a timely manner
• Ensuring project cost documentation is gathered and prepared in line with client and project contract requirements
• Holding regular review meetings with Project Managers and report on same to line manager and the client as required
• Participating in the risk management and mitigation process
• Facilitating lessons learnt sessions on project delivery and feedback to the operations functions to ensure these are captured and acted upon to improve future project delivery
• Supporting implementation of new project controls and accounts/project systems as required
• Other relevant duties/tasks as assigned by Financial Controller

 To be considered for this role, you must have excellent analytical skills, be a strong communicator and have the ability to prioritise tasks. You will ideally be Qualified or working towards an Accountancy qualification.
