The Opportunity
We are now seeking a Tax Assistant to join their Edinburgh office on a full-time, permanent basis. Hybrid working is offered, allowing you to combine office-based collaboration with the flexibility of remote working.
This role would suit a candidate with some prior experience in personal or trust tax compliance, who is eager to grow within a supportive, knowledgeable team. Whether you’re ATT qualified, studying towards it, or simply bring strong practical experience – we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and complete Personal, Trust and Estate Tax Returns

Advise clients and trustees on Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax

Compile schedules of investment income and Capital Gains

File returns and liaise with HMRC to ensure accurate tax liability agreement

Maintain tax records and support clients on payment and repayment queries

Conduct annual reviews of client files and proactively identify tax planning opportunities

Stay current with tax legislation and contribute to best practice within the team
What We're Looking For

Prior experience in tax administration or a similar role (personal or trust tax ideally)

Numerate with strong attention to detail and excellent processing skills

Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel especially)

Proactive, well-organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team

ATT qualification (or studying towards it) is advantageous but not essential

Willingness to pursue further professional development – study support is offered
