Operational Risk Manager required for the Operations Risk & Regulatory Control team of our Glasgow based global services corporate

The Operations Risk & Regulatory Control team are a small 1st line team performing various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place, through providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage regulatory, financial and operational risk in Operations. The team focuses on implementing appropriate internal controls, business processes, internal management reporting and analysis to mitigate operational risk and fulfil regulatory reporting requirements.

This role is all about…

The successful applicant will specifically support the Disclosure of Interest (DOI) reporting team. The DOI reporting team are responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate monitoring & submission of shareholder disclosure & transparency obligations on behalf of the firm (across 32 jurisdictions).  You will manage and report on the risk and control framework including RCSA, Audit, incident management, independent process reviews. There is a requirement to coordinate global governance pack creation and participate in the meetings. There is also a requirement to support the regional teams for regional governance meetings. Given the ever-changing regulatory landscape; there is a strong focus on regulatory compliance and Operations receive ongoing rule guidance and interpretation from Compliance to support new and existing requirements effectively. The team partner with technology in an agile fashion to enhance and transform systems to improve efficiency and to address regulatory risk.

About you…

Coming from a Risk, Governance, Audit or Financial Services Operations background, you will have the ability to take ownership for, lead and coordinate multiple deliverables. You will have excellent organisation, planning and execution skills coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  You will be confident and competent in building relationships and collaborating with colleagues across functions. Functional knowledge of Operations and trade lifecycle is advantageous but not essential.
