Lusona Consultancy are working in partnership with a FMCG client who are looking to appoint a Buyer/Expeditor to their busy team.

The Buyer/Expeditor will be responsible for scheduling and expediting materials against MRP requirements.  

Responsibilities of the role will include;

• Ensuring the MRP system is updated
• Planning and scheduling deliveries of materials to meet the demand forecast
• Monitoring stock levels and ensuring shortages are minimised
• Daily update and management of daily Book In Queue in conjunction with Goods In
• Placing purchase orders for materials and negotiation of delivery dates
• Working closely with Suppliers and updating on status of deliveries
• Updating immediately with internal colleagues regarding any supplier issues/shortages

Experience and knowledge required for the role;

• Experience of working in a similar Material Planning/Buyer/Expediting role within a FMCG environment
• Strong problem analysis, judgment and decision-making skills
• Ability to plan activities, meet assigned schedules and achieve planned targets & objectives
• Good understanding of MRP / ERP systems
• Competency in the use of Microsoft packages, excel, word etc
• High degree of flexibility with good problem solving and communication skills
