Lusona Consultancy are working in partnership with a FMCG client who are looking to appoint a Buyer/Expeditor to their busy team.
The Buyer/Expeditor will be responsible for scheduling and expediting materials against MRP requirements.
Responsibilities of the role will include;
- Ensuring the MRP system is updated
- Planning and scheduling deliveries of materials to meet the demand forecast
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring shortages are minimised
- Daily update and management of daily Book In Queue in conjunction with Goods In
- Placing purchase orders for materials and negotiation of delivery dates
- Working closely with Suppliers and updating on status of deliveries
- Updating immediately with internal colleagues regarding any supplier issues/shortages
Experience and knowledge required for the role;
- Experience of working in a similar Material Planning/Buyer/Expediting role within a FMCG environment
- Strong problem analysis, judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to plan activities, meet assigned schedules and achieve planned targets & objectives
- Good understanding of MRP / ERP systems
- Competency in the use of Microsoft packages, excel, word etc
- High degree of flexibility with good problem solving and communication skills
