Continued growth within their UK portfolio has created an opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join the London team.

Role Overview

The Design Manager will take ownership of the design management process across high‑value data centre projects, acting as the central point of coordination between clients, consultants, and internal delivery teams. The role is focused on ensuring that design information is accurate, coordinated, and delivered in line with programme requirements to enable seamless construction and fit‑out activities.

You will play a key role in driving design solutions, managing risk, and resolving technical issues proactively, ensuring design quality, compliance, and efficient project delivery at all stages.

Requirements

• Proven experience working for a main contractor or major subcontractor on complex building projects
• Background in mechanical, electrical, or construction‑led design environments
• Strong understanding of the full design and construction process
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams
• Experience producing, managing, and reporting against design programmes
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of procurement influences on design
• High level of organisation with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Clear, confident communicator with a client‑focused mindset
• Strong awareness of health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Data centre project experience is advantageous but not essential
