An unusual opportunity has become available for a Knowledge & Development Lawyer to join the Technology & Commercial Team within this Scottish Independent Law firm. The role is for an initial 12 month contract with the chance of being made permanent and could be based from Glasgow or Edinburgh with flexible working which would only require 1 day/week to be in the office. Part-time options may also be considered.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Creating, implementing and supervising the Technology & Commercial division’s internal training programme in core areas (IT, IP, data privacy, commercial contracts – optionally competition law and consumer law), including division wide-training, training for junior assistants and trainees. This will involve identifying training needs, delivering sessions personally and co-ordinating speakers for other sessions;
• Provision of assistance and guidance to fee earners for high level technical queries;
• Writing or contributing to blogs and other articles as may be required from time to time; and
• Capturing relevant know-how from the fee earners, and sharing with the rest of the team.

Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 5 years of PQE gained in a similar team within private practice, be a highly organised and passionate self starter with the ability to build and maintain a good relationship with colleagues including a strong team-working ethos; and be open and approachable and willing to work flexibly to assist the team as required.
