International Tax Manager

An opportunity has arisen within the Glasgow-based tax function of a leading international professional services firm. This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen and future-proof the firm’s international tax capability as the business continues to scale globally.

This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys technical international tax compliance, but also wants exposure to complex, value-add project work.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of EMEA corporate tax compliance, working closely with internal finance stakeholders and overseas advisers to ensure accurate, timely filings across multiple jurisdictions.

The role is intentionally split:

  • ~70% international tax compliance (EMEA-focused)

  • ~30% project work, including post-merger integration, process improvement, and cross-border tax initiatives

You’ll sit within an established, collaborative tax team in Glasgow, with visibility across the wider international finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead EMEA corporate tax compliance, including review and coordination of returns and computations

  • Act as the central point of contact for overseas advisers and local finance teams

  • Manage deadlines, tax risk, and compliance workflows across multiple jurisdictions

  • Support international projects such as post-merger integration and operational improvements

  • Contribute to automation and process efficiencies within the tax function

  • Build trusted relationships across finance, legal, and the wider business

About You

This role will suit someone who is technically solid, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in a cross-border environment.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong experience in EMEA corporate tax compliance (in-house or practice background)

  • Confidence working with complex, multi-country data sets

  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset (you know when “perfect” is the enemy of “done”)

  • A recognised tax or accounting qualification (CTA, CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)

  • The ability to communicate clearly with non-tax stakeholders

Why This Role?

  • Newly created position – real scope to shape how the role develops

  • Genuine hybrid working (this isn’t lip service)

  • Exposure to international projects without moving into a full advisory role

  • A stable, well-resourced environment with long-term career progression

  • Competitive salary and an excellent benefits package

If you’re an international tax professional who enjoys compliance but wants broader exposure — without sacrificing work-life balance — this is one worth exploring.  To discuss further, including salary and benefits, contact Stuart Ringland at stuart@lusona.co.uk or call 07956263466
