A new opportunity for a Solicitor with Commercial Contracts or Corporate/Commercial experience to join this global law firm as an In-House Lawyer. The role could be based in Glasgow or potentially Edinburgh and the firm also offers a flexible/agile working environment.
The role sits within the firm's Risk and Compliance team, which consists of Lawyers, non-qualified Risk Advisors and Compliance Analysts and is a team of 25.
More specifically the role will involve:
- Assisting in managing the content of the firm’s template Engagement Letters and Terms of Business for legal services
- Dealing with Outside Counsel Guidelines/client terms (and any amendments which might be necessary to accord with the firm’s risk and compliance appetite)
- Drafting terms for new technology-enabled legal services and technology based products and solutions and dealing with any amendments
- Addressing intellectual property considerations in / providing IP content for Outside Counsel Guidelines/client engagement terms
- Addressing data protection issues in / providing data protection content for Outside Counsel Guidelines/client engagement terms
- Reviewing terms and conditions for / addressing considerations that apply to the use of third party platforms
The successful candidate will have solid experience (at least 1-2 years) in negotiation and drafting Terms and Conditions - particularly Technology related contracts and Intellectual Property Rights although this is not essential.
