London | Hybrid Working
Up to £110,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced VAT professional to join a market-leading transaction tax team in London.
This is a genuinely advisory-focused role, offering exposure to some of the UK and international market’s largest and most complex transactions. Working alongside Corporate Finance, Deals and wider tax specialists, you will advise businesses, investors, lenders and other stakeholders on the indirect tax implications of acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, IPOs, carve-outs and major corporate restructurings.
For an ambitious VAT Senior Manager, or experienced Manager ready to step up, this represents an opportunity to move away from predominantly BAU advisory and compliance work and develop a genuine specialism within M&A and transactions.
The role
You will take a leading role in the delivery of complex VAT transaction advisory projects, including:
- Advising companies, lenders and other stakeholders on the VAT implications of acquisitions, disposals and restructuring activity
- Providing specialist advice on complex carve-outs, separations and demergers
- Identifying VAT risks and opportunities throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Preparing high-quality VAT reports and transaction deliverables
- Working closely with colleagues across Deals, Corporate Tax and other specialist disciplines
- Developing strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Supporting business development and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships
- Coaching and developing junior members of the team and contributing to technical training
The breadth of the work, combined with exposure to significant UK and international transactions, makes this an excellent platform for someone looking to build their reputation within Deals Tax.
Person specification
You are likely to be:
- CA, ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified, or internationally equivalent
- An experienced VAT specialist with strong UK technical knowledge
- Experienced in complex advisory work, ideally with some exposure to transactions, restructuring or M&A
- Commercially minded and able to translate complex technical issues into clear advice
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and competing deadlines
- A confident communicator capable of building relationships with senior stakeholders
- Experienced in coaching and developing more junior professionals
- Strong international VAT experience would also be highly advantageous.
What's on offer?
Salary of up to £110,000, together with car allowance, annual bonus and an excellent flexible benefits package.
The firm operates a hybrid working model, with time split between the London office, home and client sites.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the strongest transaction tax environments in the market and build a long-term career advising on genuinely complex deals.
