Exciting Glasgow-based opportunity for an Indirect Assistant to join a global market leader in renewable energy. Reporting to the Indirect Tax Manager, this is a varied and interesting role providing genuine career enhancement and progression opportunities.
The Indirect tax team are responsible for managing UK tax risk and providing relevant advice to support significant business-critical decisions. This role is an mix of Indirect tax compliance, reporting, analysis and a chance to gain advisory experience and gain exposure to wider, sector-specific tax matters.
You will be responsible for extracting and reviewing relevant data to meet compliance requirements, as well as preparing VAT returns and monthly CIS returns. You will work closely with the Manager to provide relevant advice to the business, as well as involvement with training non-tax colleagues in relevant Indirect tax matters, as required.
You will have relevant VAT/accounting experience, gained within a top accounting practice or in-house tax accounting function. As this is a varied role, you must be highly adaptable, with demonstrable ability to manage several deadlines and projects simultaneously. You will be an excellent communicator with strong time management skills. Experience of using relevant software packages (e.g. SAP accounting and AlphaVAT) preferred.
