Exciting Glasgow-based opportunity for an Indirect Tax Adviser to join a global market leader in renewable energy. Reporting to the Indirect Tax Manager, this is a varied and interesting role providing career enhancement and progression opportunities.
The Indirect tax team are responsible for managing UK tax risk and providing relevant advice to support significant business-critical decisions. This role is an interesting mix of Indirect tax compliance and advisory (around 70/30%), and offers the chance to gain exposure to wider, sector-specific tax matters.
You will be responsible for extracting and reviewing relevant data to meet compliance requirements, as well as preparing VAT returns, monthly CIS returns and annual P11D processes. You will work closely with the Manager to provide relevant advice to the business, as well as involvement with training non-tax colleagues in relevant Indirect tax matters, as required.
Ideally you will be ATT/CTA qualified with strong technical knowledge of VAT gained within a top accounting practice or in-house tax accounting function. As this is a varied role, you must be highly adaptable, with demonstrable ability to manage several deadlines and projects simultaneously. You will be an excellent communicator with strong time management skills. Experience of using relevant software packages (e.g. SAP accounting and AlphaVAT) preferred. Knowledge of CIS and Income Tax legislation would be advantageous.
