Head of Finance – Leadership Role

Salary £70,000 to £80,000 plus excellent benefits
Our client is seeking a highly capable Head of Finance to join their finance function in a key leadership role overseeing a portfolio of complex projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant from a large, structured organisation to step into a role with broad responsibility, stakeholder exposure, and the chance to lead and develop a team.
The Role
You will take ownership of a portfolio of entities, leading a team to deliver high-quality financial information, ensure robust controls, and meet strict reporting deadlines. This role combines technical accounting, commercial insight, and people leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team, providing coaching and oversight
- Reviewing management accounts, underlying ledgers, and reporting processes
- Driving improvements in systems, controls, and financial reporting
- Overseeing statutory accounts and providing technical accounting guidance
- Managing relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and key stakeholders
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Contributing to senior-level discussions and influencing decision-making
About You
We are keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification
- Experience gained within a large or complex organisation
- A background in project accounting, multi-entity environments, or technically complex finance roles
- Proven experience leading or mentoring teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and challenge where required
