The Role
This is a pivotal senior leadership appointment within the business. The Head of Finance (North) will lead all regional finance activity, ensuring robust financial control, high-quality reporting, and effective business partnering to support operational and commercial decision-making.
Working closely with the regional leadership team, you will play a key role in driving performance, strengthening governance, and supporting sustainable, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the regional finance team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes across the region
- Provide clear, insightful analysis of trading performance, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Deliver strong financial control and governance frameworks
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to influence strategic decisions
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and reporting
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within a complex or project-based environment
- Background in construction, civil engineering, or engineering strongly preferred
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence operational decision-making
- Demonstrable expertise in financial control, reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge at senior level
- Proven leadership capability, including team development and performance management
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive continuous improvement
