The Opportunity
A top-tier international law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly respected Funds team. The role is open to candidates based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or London and offers genuine cross-office collaboration, engaging with high-profile clients across the UK and internationally.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced private funds lawyer (3+ years PQE) looking to work on cutting-edge investment structures and play a key role in a growing, forward-thinking team.
The Team
The Funds team advises leading fund managers on fund structuring, formation, and investments, with a particular focus on sectors including energy, infrastructure, climate and sustainability, real estate, private equity, and impact investment. They also maintain a strong investor-side practice, guiding institutional investors on commitments, co-investments, secondaries, and bespoke mandates.
With a standout record in sustainable finance and international development funds, the team has been recognised by major industry awards and is known for its innovative legal tech and client delivery.
Key Work Highlights

Advising on the launch of sector-focused funds targeting clean energy and carbon reduction.

Supporting multilateral institutions on mechanisms for transitioning from fossil fuels to renewables.

Acting for impact investment vehicles across Sub-Saharan Africa and Eastern Europe.

Structuring secondary transactions and bespoke vehicles for institutional investors.
The Ideal Candidate
The firm is looking for a lawyer with solid experience advising on the legal aspects of private investment funds, who also has a flair for business development. Ideal experience includes:

Drafting fund constitutional and ancillary documents.

Advising on carried interest and management agreements.

Understanding of AIFMD and UK financial promotion rules.

Negotiating fund terms with investors and managing side letters.

Liaising with offshore counsel and administrators.

Preparing reports for institutional investors.
What You’ll Need

Post qualified experience gained in another leading private funds team (Corporate solicitors with secondary funds experience and an interest in specialising could also be considered)
