We're seeking a talented and experienced Firmware Design Engineer to join our clients growing team. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing firmware for embedded microcontroller systems used in a variety of exciting projects.
Reporting to the senior management team your role will be varied, but shall include such tasks as;
- Design, develop, and implement robust firmware for embedded microcontroller systems (e.g., PIC microcontrollers)
- Interface with analog designs to retrieve, control, package, and store data efficiently
- Develop robust communication protocols for data upload utilizing various protocols (TCP/IP, SPI, I2C, Modbus)
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a small project team
- Perform thorough unit testing and debugging to ensure flawless firmware operation
- Document designed firmware clearly and concisely for future reference
It is expected that you shall hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, have at least 3 years of proven experience in embedded systems firmware design, with a strong understanding of real-time systems, data processing, and storage techniques. You will be adept in programming languages like Assembly, C, and C++ (experience with C# an advantage). You will have a demonstrable background in system-to-system interfaces, real time data collection, and be proficient in various communication protocols (TCP/IP, SPI, I2C, Modbus).
