Financial Controller – Glasgow City Centre – Four Days in the Office and One at Home
Salary up to £70k plus excellent benefits
Our client, a dynamic and evolving organisation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance team.
The Role:
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation meets all statutory and fiscal financial requirements, as well as delivering internal financial services to the wider business. You will lead the production of accurate and reliable financial and management information within tight deadlines. A critical aspect of this role is maintaining the integrity of financial systems and ensuring a robust control environment with efficient and effective processes and procedures.
The organisation has experienced significant change and continues to diversify, leading to an evolving finance function. The successful candidate will drive "value add" initiatives within the Finance department, such as the evolution of information systems and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and coach the Finance team, fostering career progression.
- Ensure timely delivery of all reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key advisors and stakeholders (external auditors, tax advisors, etc.).
- Support and drive initiatives within the Senior Management Team.
- Review and revamp all financial processes to ensure full compliance.
- Evolve the format of all financial reporting templates.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and drive to effectively manage the finance team and collaborate with non-finance colleagues to deliver accurate financial information. You will have excellent planning, organising, and controlling skills, with the ability to take initiative and confidently challenge financial processes and results. Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to challenge budgets and actions are essential.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in consolidation and statutory reporting, with excellent technical skills.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / CA).
- Strong moral compass and excellent communication skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting legislation.
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
- High level of numeracy and analytical skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
