Financial Controller – Bridge of Allan – Office Based

Salary – Negotiable

Lusona is working exclusively with Grahams Family Dairies in Bridge of Allan to source suitable applicants for this new role in their team.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will manage all aspects of the monthly financial reporting and control, including the production of management accounts and KPIs and supporting commercial costings and feasibility projects.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts with meaningful commentary, increased transparency and rigorous investigation of any variances to budget delivered on a timely basis and implementing improvements where necessary
  • Development of weekly KPIs and management information, reporting back to the wider site senior management team
  • Maintenance of consistent financial processes and procedures across sites
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Monthly VAT return submissions and ensure compliance with HMRC legislation
  • Overview of purchase ledger, cash and bank, sales reports, payroll admin, intercompany reconciliations, stock takes and ONS filings
  • Working with new product development and sales teams on the commercial viability of new products, costings and price points
  • Assisting FD with one off-projects as required for the Group
  • Assist with any other ad-hoc finance duties

To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified accountant CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Experience working at both strategic and operational levels
  • Experience in managing people
  • Demonstrates a proactive, confident and resilient approach
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • An organised and systematic approach with the ability to effectively prioritise workload
  • Good communication and influencing skills at all levels. Ability to connect and build strong relationships of trust with front-line employees, site and senior management and cross-functional contacts across the group.
  • Experience with SAGE or similar systems is essential
  • Excel skills to an advanced level as well as awareness of report writing
  • Operations finance experience would be an advantage
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, whilst still meeting deadlines
