Financial Accountant
Glasgow
Salary up to £55K (DOE) + Benefits 

Lusona are working exclusively with our client in the Construction and Engineering sector to source suitable applicants for the post of ‘Financial Accountant’. A well-rounded, hands-on accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance to ensure quality financial information and controls, as well as continuous process improvement across the finance team.

The key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly profit and loss, management information and year end accounts.
• Reconciling and analysing the balance sheet
• Preparing quarterly VAT returns
• Providing corporation tax analysis
• Supporting the payroll processes on a monthly and weekly basis
• Assisting with specific areas of cashflow forecasting and payment runs
• Producing KPI reports
• Communicating with external auditors and stakeholders to support the annual audit process
• Contributing to coaching and developing junior members of the finance team
• Having the opportunity to manage and train the finance team as and when necessary
• Driving process improvement of the financial controls and processes

Ideally applicants will be fully qualified (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA), with post qualified experience or alternatively a technically strong QBE accountant. Whilst industry experience is preferred, applicants from Accountancy Practice backgrounds will also be considered. Good working knowledge of COINS would be beneficial for this role. Most importantly you will have a strong technical ability where you can work independently, but also communicate well working alongside senior management.
