Financial Accountant

Lusona are currently supporting our highly established client within the service sector for the role of ‘Financial Accountant’ based in Glasgow City Centre. As a result of further business growth, a technically strong, hands-on accountant is required to join their finance team, taking responsibility for the group statutory and management accounts.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Producing the annual group statutory accounts and consolidated management accounts
- Continuously improving group performance and reporting via financial planning and analysis
- Reconciling and analysing the balance sheet
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management information
- Helping with areas of cashflow forecasting and payment runs
- Reviewing tax returns
- Supporting the annual audit process and liaising with external auditors and other stakeholders accordingly
- Assisting with coaching and developing junior members of the finance team
- Continuously driving process improvement within the financial controls of the department
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (however those qualified by experience with a strong technical ability will also be considered). Ideally you will come from an Accountancy Practice background looking to make your first move into industry or currently working within a similar Financial Accounting role currently. Most importantly you will be highly proficient in excel, producing statutory accountants and able to apply the corresponding accounting standards.
