Finance Analyst required for the Finance function of our Financial Services client on an 18 month fixed-term contract
Reporting to the Financial Controller for Change & Transformation you will support Project Managers in their delivery of accurate project cost tracking and forecasting and to partner Finance Project Managers on all aspects of finance.
This opportunity is all about…
- To produce the monthly consolidated project accounts for both the Project BAU and Transformation programmes. Supporting explanations for review on a timely, accurate and cost-effective basis. Ensure they are maintained in compliance with the laid down controls and procedures.
- To answer Project Manager financial queries, provide challenge and also to provide financial counsel in relation to matters such as accruals and budget queries
- Assist in developing the Financial Acumen of Project Managers and train them in financial process, procedure and review
- Review with Project Managers invoice coding to ensure that all project costs are accurately reflected in the monthly reporting
- Assist with year end and provide consolidated project accounts which are robust and can be subject to audit scrutiny.
- Have an open and questioning mind rather than accepting ‘as is.’ Seek to identify opportunities for improvement where appropriate and make recommendations which support continuous improvement and implement agreed changes.
About you…
You will be an experienced Project Analyst or Project Accountant with experience of working in either a Finance team or a Projects/Change team. It is essential you have knowledge of how projects are costed, especially the use of timesheets to record people activity. You will have the ability to actively clear issues and problems as well as maintain and improve Financial Spreadsheets / Models with strict version control. Developed stakeholder engagement skills are imperative as is a collaborative approach
