Finance Manager – Group Reporting | Permanent | Full-Time | Glasgow City Centre
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join a dynamic finance team within a well-established group of companies. This is a key leadership role with broad responsibility across financial reporting, tax compliance, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a high-performing finance team, encouraging ongoing learning and professional growth.
- Support team members in achieving accounting qualifications through structured exam planning and mentoring.
- Drive the development of interpersonal and collaborative skills across the department.
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly consolidated and subsidiary management accounts.
- Deliver timely financial reporting to external stakeholders, including banking partners, and coordinate bi-annual audit processes.
- Enhance and maintain a robust internal control environment to support risk management.
- Champion continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting processes, with a focus on compliance and governance.
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts for both group and subsidiary entities, ensuring audit deadlines are met.
- Manage corporation tax compliance, including quarterly estimates, annual submissions, and liaison with external advisors.
- Oversee VAT returns, PAYE settlement agreements, and statutory filings for associated entities.
- Coordinate responses to government statistical surveys and regulatory requests.
- Lead cash flow forecasting and budgeting for subsidiary operations.
- Monitor legislative tax changes and advise senior leadership on potential business impacts.
- Maintain a tax risk register and support the Finance Director in meeting HMRC governance standards.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of UK financial reporting and tax regulations.
- Proven experience in managing audits, statutory accounts, and tax compliance.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software, including Sage50 advanced Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
