Through increased resource in the team, our client are on an agenda for growth to expand service delivery within the community development sector and the Finance assistant will be responsible for managing and maintaining ledger integrity. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant who is looking to utilise their transaction accounting experience whilst gaining additional responsibilities at general ledger stage.
The Role
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for effective, efficient, and accurate running of core financial processes. Your responsibilities will span sales and purchase ledger maintenance, cashbook analysis, fixed asset updates, and wider finance team tasks.
You will contribute to key management reporting activities, including:
- Posting cashbook entries
- Preparing and posting month‑end journals (payroll, accruals, prepayments, reallocations)
- Supporting monthly income and expenditure forecasts
- Reconciling key balance sheet accounts
- Producing financial information and commentary for allocated areas
- Reviewing petty cash reconciliations
- Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and audit queries
Your role also includes supporting both internal colleagues and external partners by responding to financial queries promptly and professionally.
