An exciting opportunity has become available for a Solicitor with up to c4 years of relevant experience to join this highly regarded Energy & Infrastructure team as a Projects and Construction Solicitor. The role could be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow and also offers hybrid working.

The team undertakes the firm’s work in the infrastructure, construction and energy sectors. As part of that broader team the Infrastructure Projects team advises project companies, contractors, service providers, funders and public sector clients in the UK and Ireland on social and economic infrastructure projects across a variety of sectors including education, health, transport, wastewater, municipal waste and social housing. You can expect to work on a wide variety of infrastructure and construction projects and will be encouraged to take client-facing roles from an early stage. Due to the breadth of work that the team undertakes, this role presents an excellent opportunity to join a growing team, develop and utilise a wide range of skills and be exposed to a variety of transactions.

Examples of the type of work on offer could include:

• Advising on project documents including project agreements, building contracts, facilities management contracts, appointment agreements, collateral warranties, direct agreements, bonds, guarantees, supplemental agreements and variation agreements;
• Advising on the projects aspects of the procurement, funding, construction and operation of infrastructure projects (including in respect of the operational aspects of PPP/PFI/NPD/hub DBFM projects);
• Advising on hub design and build development projects including the drafting and preparation of design and build development agreements, construction subcontracts, corporate approval documents and other ancillary documentation;

Applicants will either have experience gained in a projects or construction team or have relevant transferable skills in another commercial area of law and be ideally looking for a long-term career path in this area.
