Our client is a leading multi-discipline engineering business in the midst of a very strong trading period. As a result we are seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary design team at our head office in Glasgow. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of complex and innovative electrical systems for a range of challenging projects across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems, including HV and LV Distribution, Lighting, Fire, Structured Cabling, and Security systems.
- Develop detailed plans and specifications, collaborating with senior engineers as required.
- Perform system calculations (e.g., voltage drop, short circuit, earthing) and select appropriate equipment.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., BS 7671, IEC standards) and regulations (e.g., Building Regulations).
- Prepare construction documents, including equipment schedules, layout drawings, and single-line diagrams.
- Manage the electrical aspect of projects from design through to construction and commissioning.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in building services electrical design.
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles and industry standards.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., Trimble (Amtech), Dialux / Relux, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam).
