An excellent opportunity to join our prestigious Glasgow global services client as IT Governance Lead for Disaster Recovery.  This is a newly created role which will focus on ensuring that the global business has a suitable recovery provision and plans/process in place in the event of Disaster Recovery being enacted across its technology landscape.

As part of the Global IT team, you will report directly to the Head of IT Strategy with responsibility for

  • Ensuring all business applications have appropriately defined and documented recovery plans and that these are regularly tested with supporting infrastructure having the appropriate recovery procedures in place and maintained.
  • Being Trusted advisor to the firm on project/change/services to ensure that adequate provision for disaster recovery is considered and to keep up to date on new technologies, techniques and methods for DR.
  • Managing third party vendors (when required) to support the planning and testing of the relevant recovery plans.
  • Bringing together multiple different IT functions across the organisation while co-ordinating with the Business Continuity Team to ensure DR planning is aligned to business need.
  • Implementing a continuous improvement framework to evolve DR practices, so that they are aligned to industry standards, and meets the organisation's requirements.
  • Managing and continuously improving the disaster recovery governance framework, aligned to the organisations risk management framework, including standardising documentation, streamlining process and managing exceptions.
  • Improving awareness of disaster recovery across the organisation, including improved training and education for business and technology stakeholders.

About you….

You will be confident and competent Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity specialist with prior experienced implementing and maintaining Disaster Recovery/BCP frameworks/programmes, including testing strategies. You will have significant relevant technical experience within an IT environment with an understanding of key application technologies and recovery techniques. Knowledge of ITIL, Prince 2 and Agile preferred. You will be process minded, detail orientated and have strong documentation skills. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to building relationships and influence stakeholders from a range of backgrounds across the enterprise
