Glasgow or Edinburgh | Hybrid Working | Up to £90,000 + Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Work with some of the world's leading investment managers. Develop your advisory expertise. Help shape the future of a rapidly growing tax practice.
Lusona is working with a leading global professional services firm to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior Manager into its expanding Financial Services Tax team in Scotland.
The Asset & Wealth Management practice is experiencing sustained double-digit year-on-year growth, driven by the increasing accessibility of investment products to retail investors, the development of new investment structures and the continued trend towards outsourcing complex corporate tax compliance.
This is creating significant opportunities for ambitious tax professionals to develop their careers, working with some of the world's largest asset managers and financial institutions.
Importantly, you do not need previous Asset & Wealth Management experience. The team is equally interested in strong corporate tax professionals from other sectors who have experience working with large, complex organisations, including those currently working in-house who would welcome a return to practice.
The Opportunity
This is a varied, commercially focused role combining corporate tax advisory, oversight of complex compliance engagements, technology-enabled transformation and senior client relationship management.
Working closely with experienced Partners and Directors, you will:
- Deliver high-value tax advisory work: Advise major UK and international clients on corporate tax matters, including restructuring, international tax structuring, transactions and wider commercial developments. You'll also have opportunities to utilise AI and emerging technologies to support the delivery of advisory and transformation projects.
- Turn compliance into commercial insight: Oversee large-scale outsourced corporate tax compliance engagements, ensuring strong governance, quality and effective delivery. A key part of the role involves understanding and interrogating client data, identifying valuable insights, highlighting risks and uncovering opportunities for additional advisory work.
- Drive tax transformation: Help clients improve their tax processes, reporting, controls and use of data, leveraging technology, automation and AI to deliver greater efficiency and better-informed decisions.
- Build relationships with major clients: Act as a key point of contact for high-profile UK and multinational organisations, developing trusted relationships, understanding their commercial priorities and identifying opportunities to add value.
- Develop people and contribute to growth: Support the leadership, coaching and development of junior colleagues while playing an active role in the continued expansion of one of the firm's fastest-growing tax teams.
Who are we looking for?
We are keen to speak with qualified CA, ACA, ACCA or CTA professionals (or equivalent) who have strong UK corporate tax experience and are operating at Senior Manager level, or are ready to take that next step.
You might currently be:
- Working in corporate tax within a Big Four, Top 10 or other established accountancy firm, advising large or complex clients.
- Operating in an in-house corporate tax role within a large organisation and interested in returning to practice for greater variety, career development and exposure.
- A technically strong corporate tax professional with experience in advisory, compliance oversight, tax reporting or tax transformation.
You don't need to tick every box. The team recognises that strong candidates bring different strengths and experiences, whether that's technical advisory, managing complex engagements, improving tax processes or building client relationships.
What matters is your ability to understand complex tax issues, engage confidently with senior stakeholders and contribute to a collaborative, ambitious team.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Genuine variety: No two clients or engagements are the same. You'll gain exposure to a broad mix of advisory, compliance governance, data-driven insights, transformation and relationship management.
Outstanding client exposure: Work with some of the largest and most sophisticated asset managers and financial institutions in the world, dealing with commercially significant tax challenges.
Career development: Join a growing practice where you'll have the opportunity to broaden your technical expertise, develop leadership capabilities and build towards future progression.
A supportive team culture: Work alongside highly experienced and approachable Partners and Directors within a collaborative environment that genuinely invests in its people.
An evolving market: Be part of a sector undergoing significant change, with new investment products, evolving client requirements and technology creating fresh opportunities for tax professionals to add value.
