A new opportunity has become available for a Solicitor to join the Contentious Construction team which sits within the Property & Infrastructure Disputes Group at a leading Scottish independent law firm. The role would be based in Edinburgh.
The team has a busy and broad practice with a particular focus on the energy sector, and regularly advises on the following areas: infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, waste-water, transport, oil and gas, renewables (hydro schemes, tidal, onshore and offshore wind),flood prevention schemes, commercial developments, domestic, PFI/PPP, and professional negligence.
The work on offer will include:
• Advising contractors and employers throughout the UK on issues relating to construction and engineering contracts.
• Advising contractors and employers in construction disputes in the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, and the Technology and Construction Court.
• Advising and representing employers and contractors throughout the UK in Adjudications, Mediations, Arbitrations and Expert Determinations.
Applicants will ideally have between 0-3 years of relevant PQE, ideally with some construction litigation experience but that is by no means essential. Other Litigation experience will also be considered particularly property litigation or professional negligence. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate strong analytical and drafting skills, the ability to provide and to communicate practical and commercial advice as well as good interpersonal and consultancy skills.
