This is a new opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to work on some of the biggest Construction projects in Scotland working for a global law firm. The role could be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow and offers hybrid working. Applicants will ideally be at NQ level or have 2-3 years of relevant PQE.

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded and friendly non-contentious construction team who advise clients on all types of construction projects including commercial, retail, energy and infrastructure. The work on offer is client-facing, varied, fast-paced and challenging across a wide variety of sectors working with developers, major institutional investors, public sector and education bodies, contractors, insurers and lenders in Scotland, across the UK and internationally.

Examples of the type of work on offer can include:

• Working closely with clients and their professional consultants when drafting and negotiating construction contracts, professional team appointments, guarantees and collateral warranties
• Advising on procurement routes and use of standard form contracts such as NEC, SBC, FIDIC and JCT
• Writing articles and presenting at internal and external seminars.  

In addition, all Associates are given the opportunity to build a firm-wide network through attending learning and development courses in other jurisdictions with colleagues in other offices both UK based and international.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in a projects or construction role or have some commercial experience in another discipline and a specific interest in developing a career in this area
