Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their growing infrastructure team, supporting the delivery of major power, energy and infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of critical assets including substations, grid connection schemes and renewable energy facilities, while also gaining exposure to projects within the industrial, transportation and defence sectors.

 

Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality civil engineering designs, ensuring technical excellence and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The role offers the chance to work on complex and nationally important infrastructure schemes while developing your technical skills and progressing towards professional chartership.

 

This position is ideal for a motivated Civil Engineer with experience in infrastructure design who is looking to take on greater responsibility, work closely with clients and stakeholders, and play a key role in shaping the UK's future energy network.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Design and specify civil engineering solutions for infrastructure and energy projects, including drainage, earthworks, utilities and external works.
  • Produce detailed technical drawings, specifications, reports and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop safe, efficient and sustainable project solutions.
  • Review engineering calculations and subcontractor designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
  • Assist with technical problem-solving and project coordination activities.
  • Contribute to the development and mentoring of graduate and early-career engineers.
  • Promote engineering best practice, quality assurance and continuous improvement across project teams.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, contractors and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

 

 

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering civil engineering projects within infrastructure, energy, industrial, transportation or similar sectors.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status through ICE, IStructE or a related professional body.
  • Strong experience in drainage design, earthworks and external works design.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD and other similar design and modelling software.
  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and CDM Regulations.
  • Understanding of BIM processes and collaborative design environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Eligibility to obtain security clearance where required.
