Senior Risk Analyst required for the Group Risk team of this prestigious Edinburgh based Financial Services company.

The Group Risk team collectively monitor and assesses the risk exposure of the business against their risk appetite, whilst also considering the adequacy of the control environment. They also are responsible for the firm’s risk management framework and ensuring that it is aligned with business strategy and culture.

Reporting to Manager, you will primarily oversee pooled fund and counterparty credit risks. This will involve taking responsibility for the monitoring and delivery of the firm pooled fund risk management oversight programme. Important aspects of this role include utilising data analytical tools in the performance of data and numerical analytical reviews across their range of pooled funds and to provide risk-based input to support the continued development of the programme. You will also co-ordinate AIFMD reporting and support other activities in the Group Risk function such as business continuity, operational resilience, and data protection.

This role is all about…

  • Co-ordination of AIFMD (EU directive) reporting
  • Performing ad-hoc detailed reviews on emerging areas of risk
  • Contributing to reports for relevant Regulators, Boards, and Committees
  • Supporting other activities across the Group Risk function such as business continuity, operational resilience, and data protection
  • Managing and responding to internal and external queries relating to pooled fund risk

Coming from a technical background in risk management, compliance, internal audit or external audit, you will a proven record of delivery, ideally within financial services or accountancy practice.  You will a proven track record analysing and manipulating data. Experience using data analytical tools such as Tableau or Power BI is preferable but not essential. You will be able to demonstrate competence in making sound judgements based on evidence and information available as well as being able to deliver high quality results to deadlines, including accurate, clear and concise report writing.  Strong verbal communication skills are also imperative, including the ability to build relationships with varying stakeholders.
