There are a number of openings currently available for a recently qualified or qualified Solicitor with up to 4 years of PQE to join the Banking and Finance team within this independent Scottish Law firm based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen.
The role will involve providing support on a wide variety of transactional and banking advisory work, including project finance, fund finance, corporate funding, acquisition finance, public sector finance and real estate finance. Some general banking experience is desirable but not essential as additional training will be provided as required. In this role you will have the opportunity to work within one of the largest banking teams in Scotland with specialists who have a reputation for involvement in innovative financing deals.
Core tasks will include:
- Advising clients on banking matters including drafting loan and security documentation associated with different types of finance and legal options.
- Drafting of legal research and papers for client advice and/or wider publication.
- Assisting clients to meet their overall business objectives.
- Project managing transactional work and working with other Practice Areas on multi-disciplinary matters
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate some/all of the following:

- Motivation to learn and keep knowledge up to date.
- An understanding of clients' needs and the type of advice required.
- Strong drafting and written communication skills.
- Proactive approach to understanding the Practice Area's key banking clients, the industry they operate in and the challenges they face.
- Strong research skills.
