Lusona's client, a well known large independent firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors in Glasgow, are now looking to recruit an Audit Supervisor for their expanding Scottish Audit practice. The firm boasts an extremely varied client portfolio and encourages team members to work collaboratively in a hybrid/flexible working model.

Reporting to the Audit Manager you will be responsible for the planning, implementation and completion of some of the firm's larger and more complex client audits. The key duties and responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Preparing audit planning documentation for review with minimal supervision
  • Arranging timescales for audit work with the corresponding Audit Manager 
  • Discussing requirements for data analytics with the local audit team on a case by case basis
  • Planning, scheduling and delegating work to junior members of the audit team, providing support and guidance as required
  • Performing completion of the audit file, collating all required documentation for managerial review
  • Briefing, training and debriefing Audit Assistants, giving constructive feedback as required
  • Building effective client relationships, liaising with client contacts onsite
  • Monitoring timescales and budgets, highlighting scope issues, on-site issues and overruns to the Audit Manager 
  • Auditing draft tax computation and tax provisions, communicating with tax colleagues to ensure these are reviewed on time
  • Preparing draft financial statements to a high standard in line with GAAP framework applied, maintaining quality control
  • Focusing on personal development, seeking regular and acting upon any development requirements.

You will be a recently or nearly qualified Accountant CA/ACCA/ACA with previous experience of being the Senior on varied audit engagements. You will demonstrate sound technical accounting and assurance skills as well as an inquisitive mind and proactive approach to your work. Developed communication and interpersonal skills are imperative, coupled with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
