Our Glasgow services client is transforming its target operating model and the way it delivers essential business services in support of both their employee and client lifecycles, making it easier to do business with and within. They are in turn looking to recruit an experienced Applications Architect on a 12-month fixed term contract.

A key area of transformation will be developing the application architecture. The Enterprise Architecture Function provides services for the entire company, both internal and client facing transforming Ashurst into an integrated environment that is responsive to change.

This role is all about…

  • Developing and maintaining the target Application Architecture and Roadmap which enables the Business Architecture while enabling achievement of the firms’ strategic aims.
  • Identifying candidate Architecture Roadmap components based upon gaps between the Baseline and Target Application Architectures.
  • Working with the Head of EA and EA team to continuously improve the maturity of the firms’ Application Principles.
  • Identifying appropriate tools and techniques to be used for capture, modelling, and analysis, in association with the selected Application Architecture viewpoints.
  • Creating and maintaining the baseline Application Portfolio and Interface Catalogue.
  • Developing and create conceptual, contextual, logical and physical models to support the use of data and operations across Ashurst.
  • Developing application and integration standards, guidelines, processes, structures and architectures for modelling and design.
  • Mapping of applications to their purpose in supporting the business; and demonstrating associations from applications to data, through the business-information diagrams developed during Business Architecture.

About you…

  • Experienced Applications Architect, preferably within a services environment
  • Industry certified to TOGAF level 2 (or equivalent)
  • The ability to engage stakeholders and find alignment/consensus in the design of application and integration solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people at all levels, internally and externally with proven ability to influence senior leaders strategic thinking in line with organisation priorities.
  • The Ability to communicate complex concepts in an engaging manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The Ability to demonstrate the impact of services and return on investment.
