Accounts Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager required for the successful Accounts & Business Services team of this firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors. This is a flexible and rewarding role in which to further develop your client relationship and people management skills, in a flexible/hybrid working environment.

The team provide comprehensive compliance and advisory services an impressive range of clients from commercial and charity sectors. This includes year-end accounts, management accounts, bookkeeping, digital accounting support, and complex advisory projects to enable client businesses to grow and thrive. The team are now seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to provide effective client relationship management, staff development and hands-on accounting support for some of the team’s larger or more complex clients.

The key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients; acting as the key point of contact, attending meetings and building strong, trusted relationships
  • Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for limited companies and partnerships
  • Occasional visits to client sites, supporting them with business planning and accounting queries
  • Mentoring junior team members, providing review, technical support, training and feedback as necessary;
  • Managing workflow and operations across the team, ensuring processes and procedures are maintained
  • Providing support to senior management, including involvement with complex client advisory projects (e.g. MI, forecasting, digitalisation, etc.)

You will be a qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience gained in the Business Services/Advisory team of a mid-tier CA practice, or alternatively a small firm of Chartered Accountants. Ideally you will have demonstrable experience at review level and show willingness and ability to train and develop junior members of the team. Strong cloud accounting skills, coupled with the ability to train others on the usage and effectiveness of cloud accounting software, are essential.
