Location: Hybrid (Glasgow area)
Salary: Up to £30,000 DoE
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per week)

An established charitable organisation is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for a varied role within a purpose-driven organisation.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the accounts payable function while supporting a range of month-end and finance administration activities. The role offers a mix of transactional finance, reconciliations, reporting support, and process improvement responsibilities.

This opportunity is well suited to candidates currently pursuing an accountancy qualification, with study support and ongoing professional development available. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable activities
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve payment queries
  • Process staff and volunteer expenses
  • Prepare payment runs and maintain supplier records
  • Complete bank, credit card, cash, and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments
  • Maintain financial records and finance systems
  • Assist with cash flow reporting and management accounts preparation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Strong numerical and administrative skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems (Sage 50 desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
