Accounts Assistant
Location: Glasgow City Centre – Hybrid
Salary: Up to £32,500 plus excellent benefits

Are you an organised, detail‑driven Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in your finance career? We are seeking a motivated individual to support the day‑to‑day financial management of several projects across the UK. You will work closely with Management Accountants and operational teams to ensure smooth financial operations across multiple projects.
About the Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting accurate financial processing, reporting, and project finance administration. This role offers excellent exposure to both UK and overseas accounting requirements within a dynamic project‑based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Raise and process sales invoices accurately in the SAP system.
- Process purchase invoices and ensure they are coded and approved correctly.
Payments & Reconciliations
- Manage monthly payment runs across multiple online banking platforms.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all project accounts.
Tax Reporting
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly VAT returns.
- Complete CIS/RCT submissions as required.
Credit Control & Project Finance
- Maintain an active credit control function and address payment issues.
- Calculate interest charges on loans and prepare agency and commitment fee calculations.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Management Accountants and Operations Managers.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide year‑end documentation.
About You
Education & Experience
- AAT qualified or working towards AAT (preferred).
- Previous accounts experience is essential.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong Excel skills (essential).
- SAP experience is beneficial but not required.
- Understanding of UK tax/VAT regulations.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
